The Lauder-Reut Students Attend the Science Camp of the Weizmann Institute, Israel

WeizmanApart from the Math & Science by Mail Program or the Safe Cracking International Applied Physics Tournament, our high school students (junior &senior) are oferred the opportunity to attend the international science camp organized by the prestigious Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel.

The Weizmann Institute Science Camp has been organzied for Lauder-Reut starting with the school year 2011-2012, as part of the exclusive academic program between our school & the Institute.

The Weizmann Institute of Science ( ) is one of the world’s leading multidisciplinary research institutions. Hundreds of scientists, laboratory technicians and research students working on its lushly landscaped campus embark daily on fascinating journeys into the unknown, seeking to improve our understanding of nature and our place within it.

The study camp organized for the Lauder-Reut students by the Weizmann Institue is an extraordinary experience for the children, both academically and personally. Our students are welcomed and guided by illustrious scientists (Professor Ada Yonath, recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry) and have the unique privilege of learning a new, radically different, and extremely captivating approach to mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology- unlike the theoretical methodology used in Romanian schools. All the activities, whether they took place in the Institute’s impressive technological park or in the scientific workshops, are based on experiments and empirical observations, using the latest technology (particle accelerator, solar tower for a different approach to mathematics, astronomy observatory, and many others).
